Standard Wall Exhaust Fan
There is a large variety of sizes available. It ranges from 8 inches up to 48 inches, so you can get the best fit possible.
The standard fan models are available in single, two and variable speeds. The variable speed fans use a dual voltage motor and blade combination for energy efficiency.
Each fan uses a totally enclosed, thermally protected motor. There are also heavy wire chrome plated OSHA guards on the intake side of the fan.
Fan blades are well balanced, either heavy gauge aluminum or galvanized. The box housing is welded rugged steel that has a durable powder coated finish.
Some models have PVC louvers, but others have aluminum. The aluminum louver shutters are supported by long life nylon bushings.
As far as accessories and finishings go, there are a few choices.
- Grey plastic weather hood
- Galvanized metal hood
- MC type and wet locations controls

Explosion Proof Wall Exhaust Fan
These models are ideal for industrial settings where gas or vapors may be released into the air.
Canarm HVAC’s explosion proof models are constructed and designed to ensure no spark will ever make contact with the air. The single speed, dual voltage motors will be able to provide the required ventilation without risking unexpected explosion.
The size range for the explosion proof exhaust fan goes from 8 inches to 24 inches.
These fans are single speed, at 1625 RPM and 115/230 Volts.
Each fan has a totally enclosed, ball bearing motor with thermal overload protection.
The box housing is welded rugged steel that has a durable powder coated finish. All louver shutters are aluminum, supported by long life nylon bushings.
Like the standard fan, there are heavy wire chrome plated OSHA guards on the intake side of the fan and the blades are well balanced, either heavy gauge aluminum or galvanized.
There are two classes/four groups that divide up fans for best fit in the environment.
Class I, Group C – Atmospheres containing ethyl ether, ethylene, gases or vapors of equivalent hazard.
Class I, Group D – Atmospheres such as acetone, ammonia, benzene, butane, cyclopropane, ethanol, gasoline, hexane, methane, natural gas, naphtha, propane, or gasses or vapors of equivalent hazard.
Class II, Group F – Atmospheres containing carbonaceous dust, including carbon black, charcoal, coal, or coke dusts that have more than 8% total entrapped volatiles, or dusts that have been sensitized by other materials so that they present an explosion hazard.
Class II,Group G – Atmospheres containing combustible dusts such as flour, grain, wood, plastic and chemicals.
Atmosphere – Vortex Powerfan
The Vortex Powerfan is a high performance in-line exhaust blower. There are 10 different models varying in size and weight. Each fan comes with a 10-year warranty.
The models all come with mounting brackets that work for either a wall or ceiling mounting.
The Powerfan is built with a heavy gage steel casing and an epoxy finish to make it more durable, sound absorbing, rustproof and impact resistant. The lip and collar are extended to simplify duct hook-up.
Each fan has permanently lubricated sealed bearings and is prewired with 120V power cord.
There is an external rotor motor, that is balanced, vibration free and has automatic reset thermal overload protection.
The aerodynamic design allows more air flow, and they are 100% speed controllable.
Suitable for airstream temperatures up to 140°F (60°C).
